Hello Anne,

Fill flash was needed here as the butterfly was in partial light and the bg was bathed in direct afternoon sunlight. I believe the branch that the pearly-eye is perched on has true colors and the flash did well in at least separating and presenting the variation in hues, not often seen, on this rather secretive butterfly.

Perhaps I could have managed the exposure a bit better ,,, yet am happy with the result and with the limitations of the small kit lens used.
