The falcons have that kind of nostril, the hawks is more just a sideways hole. It's because the falcons are the ones that can divebomb at up to 250 mph, so that little stick-like thing in the center of their nostril is to avoid anything flying in there at that speed. Just thought I'd share my knowledge with you :-).
