first thanks to you two posters for correcting my gross error
Cyclamen purpurascens not winter crocii..which was another shot...and i cant say i got mixed up ...i just dont know them and their names
as for wild...they seem to like limestone rock formations and dont mind growing in the wild..although i dont see the uk on the area list where they are found..
i can only assume they were cultivated to brighten up the woodland environs of chirk castle
will check this further..
