I think this was a bit of a freak snowstorm but we were caught in it. Yeah we were holed up in a tent from Friday night til Sunday morning as the visibility and unfamiliar territory didn't make for safe travel. There was a good 18 inches of fresh powder by Sunday morning and I'm guessing that the Cascades seasonal highway was closed as a result, which was probably why no one else came up over the weekend; particularly on Sunday. Fortunately it warmed up considerably and by Monday when we went back down the highway was pretty much snowfree.
Moraine Lake here is at 6500 feet in elevation, and it looked like it snowed down to around 5500 feet. We'd love to go back and explore this area more in the future!
