Dobrogea is a great part of my country where you can find all sorts of birds and other wildlife.
There are several national parks including the Macin Mountains and the Danube Delta. The region is stupendous and offers a great variety of wildlife (my interest is in birds). Birds are plentiful since the region is a bottleneck for migratory birds and has the Danube Delta. I think everybody with interest in birds has heard about the Danube Delta.
The pictures presented in the travelogue are not from the delta but from the dryer part of Dobrogea.
I was there for a conservation project for Falco Cherrug. A magnificent bird, very endangered in Romania. Unfortunately we were not able to see even one during the project.
It was just after the migration so pretty much all the birds were gone but we did manage to see a lot more than usual.
I intend to make another trip there next year and this time I'll try to get the height of the migration.
