This year I decided to take a vacation to the Lofoten, Norway with a focus on photography. My vacation started at the end of April and lasted for almost two weeks.

My base for this vacation was in a Rorbruer in Svolvaer where I was able to visit the all parts of the island and still has some luxury nearby. It is always nice to have a grocery store just around the corner when you are away at odd hours. My vacation was early in the season and the winter had just ended. Must of the vegetation was still brown and only a few small flowers were starting to bloom. It would've been nice if there was just a little more green. But that would've meant a vacation in high season with more people and also a lot more daylight. Even now the sun only set at 11:00 and was rising already around 3:00. It never really got dark.

The Lofoten are certainly a paradise for photographers. The wild nature, and lack of man made structures allow for great views. I do think that this one trip was not enough and a second trip will have to follow sooner or later.
