[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The coati also known as the hog-nosed coon,is a member of the raccoon family.
He is native to South, Central and south-western North America.
Being excellent climbers, they can be found playing and resting in the trees. With their excellent sense of smell they go along sniffing the ground and will stop to dig up prey making a ditch with their claws. They also push the dirt around with their snout, rooting much like a pig. They are very active hunters and hunt in what they call bands this is a large group of coatis up to as many as 30. This is why farmers are not fond of them because they uproot their crops.

Hi Sky,
well i've never seen nor even heard of a Coati before, so thanks for introducing me to them! I like this group shot, you have some very nice detail in his fur and you've caught him in a nice pose with his tail up in the air like that. Thanks for this, it's always great to find a new animal.

Hi Sky,
Wonderful shot of this interesting looking Coati. Amazing long nose and I like the way the tail is raised - seems like it is a normal stance and pose. It will be so nice to see a bunch working together though it may not be such a good idea for farmers. Very impressive sharpness and colours. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

Hello Sky,
Wonderful image of this unusual subject and his band. The farmers should look at the benefits, they aerate the soil, eat harmful bugs, and fertilize the soil. This must have been a great experience Sky, thanks for sharing.

Hi there Sky! Costa Rica, lucky you! This little coati has struck a very accommodating pose for you. Look at the strength in those legs, you can tell he's a digger. Good detail--I can almost feel the bristly fur. Well done! Thanks, Linda
