Shot of a Ladybird captured in the Okhla Bird Sanctuary in Noida, India.
Since I didn't succeed in capturing any Bird shots worth posting, i though this time i will do with a Lady"Bird" before I leave.
Why are Ladybugs so called?
This is a strange one - they were thought to be representative of the Seven Sorrows of Mary due to the seven spots they have on their backs (yes I know some have five) and had a variety of names in a variety of countries. In France they becames Betes du bon Dieu (Creatures of good God) or les vaches de la Vierge (the cows of the Virgin)while in Germany they are called Marienkafer (Mary's Beetles). This translated to Our Lady's Beetle or Bug which became Ladybug.
Also known variously as ladybirds (British English, Australian English, South African English), ladybugs (North American English) or lady beetles (preferred by some scientists).

Thanks for stopping by.

PP: Removed noise using NeatImage. Increased shadow in Picasa to darken BG. Added frame using PSCS2.

I just photographed some of the ladybugs in my backyard this weekend. Funny, that I was just thinking that you might like it, and here you are posting one. It's hard to focus because they are so small. I had a tough time with it. You did well here. Very nice color and the soft BG really help bring it out.

Hi Kirty,

In the Neterlands they called "Lieveheersbeestjes".
The sharpess is enough of the Ladtbug, but the ladybug are very central. I prefer another cut so that the Ladybug are left stand, he looks to the right!.
Beautiful colors.

Regards Gert

Hello Kirti,
Take my advice; don't use the free version of NeatImage noise remover. It kills all the fine details in a picture. In fact, it flattens them out.
That exactly has happened to your Lady Bird picture. Details on the leaf have been obliterated.
Still, you have shot the subject from a good point of view, showing its thorax and the orangish red outer shell with black dots on it quite clearly.
Thanks for sharing the picture and keep shooting.
BTW, you have a very good camera. Many people are doing fantastic work with it.

Hello Kirti,

This is a very nice image of the lovely ladybird covered in the greens that surrounds it.
Love the color contrast and the clarity of the image.
Composition is very good, but I've got the feeling that you've used a little to much noise reduction in Neat Image.
The lady bird and the leaf its on did become a little soft by that and therefore lost detail.
Nevertheless a very nice imge. TFS!!!

Have a nice day, Harry

Hello Kirti. Gorgeous looking bug here. Fine color and clarity in a well muted background. Best regards and thanks for sharing. Jusni

Hi Kirti,
Excellent shot of this brightly coloured Ladybird and it contrasts well with the BG green leaves. Though the focus is a bit soft (which I presume is the effect of NeatImage) the image looks superb with great lighting. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

The front end of the bug seems sharp enough, Kurtz...I still find the hind and the leaf soft...
Great try, and I'm sure you'll perfect it...

Hi Kirti, using neatimage probably you less some details of Ladybird, may be better if you apply neatimage only on BG, everywhere it's a wonderful macro with superb colors and excellent sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Kirti,
Nice macro image with great colors, excellent composition and good focus. Thank you Kirti.

Hola Kirti, en la composición veo muy centrado el motivo y tambien un exceso de algun proframa para limpiar fondo. Un saludo

Hi Friend Kirti,
Nice shot of this ladybird! TFS.

I like the soft focus. Also great caption on this one. Cheers Josh Lewis.
