[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot a few days back at Kallar Kahar lake in morning. There were many birds around but i could take only few shots of moorhens in 2 hours. There was far less vegetation cover than the normal because of winter season and these shy birds were running here and there sensing my presence. Some info from Wikipedia is as under:

The purple swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio) is a "swamp hen" in the rail family Rallidae. Also known locally as the pūkeko, African purple swamphen, purple moorhen, purple gallinule or purple coot. From its French name talčve sultane, it is also known as the sultana bird. This chicken-sized bird, with its large feet, bright plumage and red bill and frontal shield is easily recognisable in its native range.

Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Aves
Order: Gruiformes
Family: Rallidae
Genus: Porphyrio
Species:P. porphyrio

Akbar Ali, I congratulate you for this wonderful photograph of this Porphyrio Porphyrio, the composition is great, with the dark tones of the bird contrasting perfectly with the pale yellow of the aquatic environment. Deserves special greeting super exposure management. Rarely see a picture with the exact light, neither more nor less than that required to give the colors which are in reality.

A big hug, your friend ARGENTINA.

Hello Akbar,
Your Purple Swamphen is a beautiful bird indeed as is evident by your photo. You managed to capture it out in the open which gives us a great look at it's colorful plumage. Nice sharp focus and natural color, but would like to see just a tad more contrast.
