Wow Deborah, what majesty here, it is a superb bird! How you captured its fiery side, it's almost a phoenix but coming out from water, not ashes. I am impressed by how you managed the dof here, so precise and exact. Everything is blurred but the bird in all its glory. Chapeau!

quelle beua POV, l'oiseau qui décole onle croirait retenu à l'eau par le poids de l'eau sur ses ailes, le reflet dans l'eau est aussi très beau.
Welcome back, I hope you are feeling much better now. I have kept an eye out for your photo's hoping to see a new one to say you were OK.
I like this Gr Crested Grebe as the colours are stunning and the pose is super.

Amazing timing with the wings like that. That is very good detail and light for what you call a dull day. Impressive colourings.

A lovely pose captured. It displays the beautiful plumage details well.
The markings are easily seen ,and the low POV is very well done.
Very good lighting and colours.
The reflections on the water are quite a nice accent to the shot.

This is excellent, great detail considering the low shutter speed, just a little movement in the head. Very good exposure, whites and shadows very well managed. It's nice to see a Grebe like this, most images show them semi-submerged. What I find a little strange is that the water looks blurred throughout, yet the bird is in the same focal plane and has detail. Can't explain that one!
