This is "Livingstone's Turaco" shot at ARTIS long time back :-). I think ppl would have got fed up of my macro so i thought I'll post some other pics for a change!

The Livingstone's Turaco (Tauraco livingstonii) is a species of bird in the Musophagidae family. It is found in the humid forest areas of Burundi, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. Within its range, the Livingstone's Turaco inhabits mountain and coastal forests, from sea level to 2500m.

The Livingstone's Turaco is approximately 45cm from beak to tail, and weighs about 262-380 grams. Females are generally slighter in appearance than males. Most usefully for species identification, the white tipped crest is anteriorly pointed when erect and measures around 65-75mm long.

Hello Goutham,
Beautiful shot.Good focus and sharpness. Excellent details of the plumage and I liked the way you have used the flash to give a beautiful sheen to its feathers. Thanks for sharing it,

Hello Goutham,

That's a good shot. Sharp and coloured. Good POV and DOF. BG okÚ. Very nice composition. Specially the difference between the light of the head and body. Good work. Regards and TFS Bob TFS Bob

look at the details in the plumage its got the etched effect to it.
the exotic bird seems ready for a part in Kathkali dance with those eye paint.

Gautham, An interesting bird. I think you focused on the most important part of the bird, the head with all its ornamentation. Great eyes and silky feather coating all over the body. Nice colors. Excellent picture.
