|The name "peregrine" means wanderer. They reach sexual maturity after a year and mate for life. Population of these birds depleted between 1950-70 due to the use of the chemical DDT.|
The Peregrine Falcon was removed from the endangered list in 1999.

Good detail in this almost extreme close up. Background works well to keep the attention on the subject.
A great shot here of this magnificent bird of prey, do you know they can reach over 200 MPH when stooping to chase thier prey? A veyr ncie angle on this shot with good light and detail.
