Hi all!

Elder elephants retire in marshy and swampy regions where they can find tenderer food. At the age of about 60 elephants have lost their teeth and the ritirement in the swamps is the consequence of this. There they finally die and the fact that elephants have retired over and over again in the same swampy regions has originated the legend of the elephants' graveyards.

But its not a legend - and my picture proves this - that the elephants' Paradise is in Switzerland, in the bed of my home river Ärgera, where they briefly make their apparition during very cold weather...

Kind regards

Markus

Ah quelle magie Markus!

Hi Markus

Very clever. A wonderful icey composition, well done.

Hi Markus.
Once more unique work of Nature. Unbearable combination of colours and light tones, surprising alive texture and highest quality of a reproduction of the splendid ice pattern. Bravo, Bravo and once more Bravo.
Alexei.

Ciao Markus,
Grazie e complimenti
Buon pomeriggio e buona domenica
Con amicizia
Maurizio

'Little Elephant Trapped in a Labyrinth" is the caption to this picture that automatically came to my mind, Markus. Gestalt at work, I suppose.
This is yet another super image of the frozen world. The textures in the entire frame are truly beautiful.
Thanks for giving the opportunity to view your fantastic creations once again.
Regards.

Hi dear Markus ,
Once again a wonderful photo.

Lovely idea from you.

"Es stapft ein großer Elefant
allein durch das Savannenland.
Er war im Kopf nicht klug.

Die Elf, so sprach er aufgebracht,
erinnert mich an Fasenacht
mit fadem Biergeruch.

Ich wollte', ich wär' ein Zwölefant,
mit Elefanten nicht verwandt,
das wäre mir genug.

So ging er hin zum Amtsgericht,
doch helfen konnten die ihm nicht,
die Zwölf ein anderer trug.

Es war der Hirsch bei seiner Balz,
der trug die Zwölf auf seinem Hals
als Zacken und als Enden.

- Reinhold Petermann

Hello Markus,
This is great!
It is amazing what one can see in ice formations and this capture of a very fine-shaped elephant is superb. Not only that, there is also a fine variation of other crystal shapes with superb charnges of light and shade, which makes the impact of the image very attractive.
Thanks and have a good week,
Ivan
