[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Four-spotted Skimmer, Libellula quadrimaculata, photographed in Acadia National Park, on Mount Deserts Island, Maine.
This species is circumboreal, and therefore found also in Europe and Asia. Thanks to Paul (PDP) et Mike (Fisher) for the ID.
Even though the weather was clear and sunny, I used the flash (and a very high speed) for this shot.

Hi Philippe - nice to see you, nice shot. The composition is great and there are good details. I think the flash has been a little too much here with some over exposure.

As for the ID - it looks like Libellula quadrimaculata (or a very closely related species), better check if they get them there. (I'm certain it's Libellula).

I have posted a WS for you. I hope you like it.

I hope you are having a nice holiday.

I don't know the kind of this species. But I can say you really done a good work.Sharpness is perfect.Emin

Beautiful indeed!
Perfect details!
Great sharpness!

It's a pity Lesley is so busy with her dog photography, because she would most likely be able to ID it for you. I can't, sorry.
So, I'm not the only one to go gallivanting off to the NE corner of the US of A ;-))
Nice and sharp capture, but the light seems a bit harsh, especially around the nose area. Good details and POV.

Hi Philippe,
I agree with Paul, the four spotted skimmer/chaser.
Excellent catch and well done on the composition. Just a wee bit OE, Paul did a fine w.s..
