The common seal are found in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. They can reach a weight of 290 lbs and reach 6ft, though these were smaller.

Estimated population of 400,000 they give birth to one pup a year. They feed on fish and kelp.

This photo was taken on an inlet where their predators (Great Whites and Orcas) would be unable to get them.

Cloudy day made for poor lighting.

Like the composition of this shot, its a shame as you say, about the lack of lighting. But a great shot and I think it works well in black and white. Did you shoot it in black and white or in colour as it would be interesting to see the colour version.

Hi Chris.
Once more excellent shot. I do not know if the flash was useful but lights and quality of the shot are very good. Poses of the seals are fine and reflect the state of mood of this group. Kind wishes and TFS.
