I clicked this picture of Painted Storks while they were flying quite high at the Okhla Bird Sanctuary in Noida (India). The place has a huge water reservoir and attracts thousands of birds, specially during the winter.

Image taken in RAW, processed in Canon DPP, cropped and little post processing in PS.

The Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala) is a large wader found in the wetlands of the plains of tropical Asia and Southeast Asia. These birds get their name from their distinctive pink tertial feathers. The flocks of these birds are found in shallow waters along rivers or lakes.

They nest colonially in trees, often along with other waterbirds. The Painted Stork is widely distributed over the plains of Asia. They are mainly seen on freshwater wetlands although they sometimes forage on the coast.
I took this shot in one of the very well-known colony of the painted storks inside the National Zoological Park in New Delhi where the birds generally arrive for nesting in October.
