[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On my last picture I showed an endemic butterfly from Madeira, Hipparchia maderensis. Today it is an endemic frog from that island:

Rana perezei

resting on a water lily in a small pond.

I used the Olympus 40-150mm lens in combination with an extension tube (25mm).

Location
Palheiro, close to Funchal, Madeira

A splendid photo! The frog in that flower is gorgeous. Excellent sharpness, details and beautiful natural colours. Great white balance, POV and composition.

schöne Aufnahme von diesem Frosch mit guter Schärfe und tollen Farben. Klasse Belichtung und gut gewählter Aufnahmestandort. Vor allem gefällt mir die herrliche Kombination von Frosch und Seerose.

What a great shot, Peter, of this frog peeking out of that lotus flower.
I do like the composition a lot.
Nice sharp details. The frog shows up a bit dark on my screen.

Hallo Peter,

unglaublich, Dein Froschkönig! Das Licht, die Komposition, die Farben, Du kannst auf den Schuss stolz sein. Zur Art: es handelt sich wohl um Rana (=Pelophylax) perezi, den Iberischen Wasserfrosch. Diese Art wurde in Madeira vom Festland aus eingeführt, ist also nicht endemisch.
