Whiskered Treeswift

Size: 15 cm
Location Panti Forest (Johor/Malaysia)

Description:
Small sized; note long wings reaching beyond tail; female lacks of chestnut ear coverts.

Voice:
High pitched squeawk in flight.

Habits:
Found in lowlands rainforest, along forest edges as well as nearby clearings, rivers and trails. Seen usually in pairs. Perches high on open branches flying out to catch small insects in the air nearby. Fairly tame and enjoyable to observe.

Distribution:
Extinct resident breeder and non-breeding visitor in Singapore.

What a stunning bird Ang. He looks like he has racing stripes on him. Very cool. I love the way the tail feathers are crossed. You've framed it well and you have good detail. Love his colours too. I see this is the only picture of one on Treknature. Hope you post more. TFS Trevor
