Peregrine Falcon - Falco peregrinus

As Raptors go, these are the best!!!

Power, speed, and the ability to kill on the wing when even over open seas. Ive actually witnessed these magnificent birds flying in from the ocean with a tasty pigeon or something in its talons!

They really are wonderful creatures.

They do breed on Portland and this bird was one of a pair that were active around their nest site, where they can be quite noisy. I do have other pics somewhere on my hardrive showing one actually killing a pigeon in flight by biting its neck with its beak!

But i need to find them.

an excellent panning photo of the Peregrine Falcon,
shot with fine POV, i love the way it is framed on the middle
showing us from where the bird is coming and where is going,
fine focus to the Falcon with excellent sharpness and details, TFS
