Hi Harry,
Excellent capture with real feeling, good colours and details. I would not get too close as the mother can be very agressive to protect her young. I have been there many times, between the calf and the mother and as they are huge you have to take it seriously.
That was strange bit of news. As the cows create the same problem it should be globally more significant. The main reason for keeping the numbers down is at least in Finland the dangers they cause for traffic.
Thanks for sharing
Pekka

Ciao Maurizio

Hi Harry,
Wowww... what a couple of very beautifull and lovely big deer (Moose)! Superb clarity and perfect shot my friend. Also subject on Global warming is excellent. It is changing the known ditributions of many species, even snakes. An example, in recent years many reptile species (including Desert cobra) extends their distribution to north and now we are recording from Turkey as first records.
TFS my friend and regards,
Bayram

Hello Harry,
This is the first shot I have ever seen of moose and it is a privilege!
The mother and calf make a beautiful picture!
Their rich brown coats show up clearly against the snowy b/g. Lovely composition.
I wonder if trying to introduce a different diet would combat the problem? I'm sure scientists will be working on a method.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Harry,
Great photo, I think there are more dairy cows in the world a little methane fart from a wild moose is doing less harm than men are. Nice capture, exellent work.
Of coures I am sitting here with lights on, and I know somewhere there is a coal fired plant making all this power I am using.

Hello Harry,
Nord-Trøndelag is one of the top three moose counties, a population that is getting a bit out of control since more animals survive because of lesser snow in the winter!
Two "smiling" specimen are captured as they notice something is going on...
Good colours and details, low light winter mood is well recorded!
Greetings,

Hallo Harry,
Groet,
Peter

Hi Harry
Superb capture of the Moose Family, nicely composed and I like the frontal POV as we don't normally see this pose and I must say they look a lot more elegant from this angle, good detail and perfect exposure, lovely colours too.

Hello Harry,
How unfair to blame the Moose (we call them Elk!) for the emissions - what about the Reindeer and even worse the cattle! But it is true!! Superb capture of these two females posing very nicely for you. They seem unusually dark in colour and are very beautiful. I miss them down here in south Sweden where they're pretty scarce.
Many thanks, Ulla

Hello Harry,
Wonderful photo of a moose couple! I still beleive that humans are much more harmful for mooses (and not only) than the inverse... As for climate change - that's part of the life in a planet scale. Should humans desappear as a result, or be reduced to stone age - that would be just a small evolution step, not more.
Thank you,
Eugene

Hello, Harry.
This is the funniest picture I have seen of moose (or is it meese).
The one on the left seems too be grinning. Great pair!
I like the composition a lot, and the contrast between the dark fur and the white snow...
Wonderful stance with frontal POV and good eye contact.
Great shot and TFS. : )

Hi Harry,
It would be ridiculous to pass the blame to these innocent creatures for global warming.
And how much carbon dioxide does each human being produce in one year? It must be some figure even though not comparable to that of another creature -- say, a Moose.
Does that mean we need to offload some human beings from planet earth to save it from annihilation? Haven't we been doing that through wars and terrorism already?
~
Coming to your picture of these two female Moose(s), it is an interesting capture. The pair look somewhat comic but seem to belong to the snow-covered earth in winter.
TFS and all the best.

Hello Harry,
Prettige dag,
John.

Hello Harry,
You've got their attention with with a direct "gaze" at the camera guy. The larger moose rt seems to have a defiant stance, I must say..
The image quality looks superb, with all the technical parameters in perfect alignment.
I found the correlation of the moose to global warming entirely ludicrous. Certainly the newspaper editor/writers are not serious? Hmmmm, I wonder ;)

Hello Harry,
The Moose of north America is the Elk of Europe, both being subspecies. In Scandinavia it is known as the Älg (Elk). The confusion starts when the American Elk is a species of deer that has nothing to do with with a Moose or European Elk. I hope that clarifies this!
Now to your image that I think is a great capture of a female Elk and her calf. The technical sharpness and exposure is excellent and the frontal POV and composition is nice to see.
Thanks for sharing this fine image and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Harry, you have many great shots in this gallery. This one caught my eye first - it's an excellent shot, so sharp and the faces captured perfectly.
Interesting note - I can't believe they're being blamed for climate change! So it's nothing to do with gas-guzzling cars then?? ;-)
cheers
Leon
