[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the first place I again would like to thank each and everyone of my dear friends overhere on TN for viewing at, there support and their very kind words/comments on my previous uploads. Highly appreciated!!!

Looks like this juvenile White Tailed Eagle is protecting the Hooded Crow by spreading its right wing.
The eagles and crow most of the time go together greatly and are ofen found eating together at the same dinner/prey
Therefore it's often hard for a photographer to get a shot of an eagle alone at a prey.

Shot taken from a hide at a plateau in the mountains of the Flatanger muncipality.

From Wikipedia

The Hooded Crow (Corvus cornix) (sometimes called Hoodiecrow) is a Eurasian bird species in the crow genus. Widely distributed, it is also known locally as Scotch Crow, Danish Crow, and Grey Crow in Ireland, which is what its Welsh name, Brân Lwyd, translates as. Found across northern, eastern and southeastern Europe, and the middle east, it is a ashy grey bird with black head, throat, wings, tail and thigh feathers, as well as a black bill, eyes and feet. Like other corvids it is an omnivorous and opportunistic forager and feeder.

It is so similar in morphology and habits to the Carrion Crow (Corvus corone) that for many years they were considered by most authorities to be merely geographical races of one species. The fact that hybridization was observed where their ranges overlapped added weight to this view. However, since 2002, the Hooded Crow has been elevated to full species status after closer observation; the hybridisation was less than expected and hybrids had decreased vigour. Within the Hooded Crow species itself, four subspecies are recognized, with one, the Mesopotamian Crow, possibly distinct enough to warrant species status itself.

From www.gonorway.no

Flatanger muncipality has approximately 1.200 inhabitants and covers a area of 457,0 km2, lies in Nord Trøndelag. Flatanger is the first coastal municipality on the Rv 17. Turn off road Rv 17 at Sjøåsen in Namdalseid and follow road Rv 766 to Flatanger. The principal industries are agriculture and sea farming. The area has great opportunities for fishing and outdoor pursuits.

There are around 1,400 islands in the Flatanger archipelago. The area is ideal for fishing from land or small boats. We recommend a trip with a hired fishing boat to the rich ocean fishing grounds. Contact the tourist office for more information. These voyages also provide a chance to see the majestic sea eagle, of which there is a large population in Flatanger.

Thanks in advance for viewing and comments.
Best regards and have a nice evening,

Hello Harry,
A lovely and amusing capture very well timed! Nice to see the two together, the Crow looks very small! Excellent DOF and fine sharp details. The colours of the Eagle are beautiful and you've got a fine background too.
Many thanks, Ulla

Your timing and the moment you captured are very good and original. TFS

Hi Harry, Very nice colors. Nice gesture well captured. The exposure is spot on despite presence of snow.

Hi Harry,

It really looks like they were friends. Usually when you see an Eagle flying it is followed by harassing crows. Very good composition and sharp details as always.

Thanks for sharing

Superb combination of aviaries! I wonder about possibly getting a new lens such as this..I must check. The quality is super!

hi Harry
excellent shot and fine tittle for this original position.
good shot.

Hi Harry,
Very interesting photo. Nice composition and details.

Hello Harry
What a superb scene captured in splendid sharpness..The perspective in size is really appreciated with the hooded crow looking like a sparrow against this gorgeous white tailed eagle....If I am totally honest though..Theres a bit to much dead space to the right of the picture..just my opinion though!!
Top picture and thanks for sharing this one.
All the Best

Hallo Harry,

Dit heb ik nog nooit gezien.
Prachtige plaat van een jonge roofvogel die zich zelf beschermd.
Prachtig van kleur, goed van scherpte en compositie.

groet Gert

Hello Harry,
Interesting fact that the crows get along so well with the White Tailed. Learned something new :)
Excellent moment captured, looks like the eagle has just touched down to me..
Great quality, everything looks very nice mf.

Hallo Harry,
Nooit geweten dat zoiets bestond. Mooie foto overigens vanuit een prachtig laag standpunt genomen. Erg goede timing. Prima scherpte ondanks het zwakke licht.

Hello Harry,

This, for me, is new.
I have never heard of these two birds acting as confederates and therefore, the shot is quite extraordinary!
Lovely details of the young eagle and nice composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Harry,

Extraordinary photo! But very deceptive, too... Since the eagle just tolerates the crow and nothing more. Are you working in the eagle's PR team?

Thank you,

Hi Harry,

interesting shot. Excellent perspective. Nice DOF. Very well done. TFS. Stev

Hello Harry

It might appear as if the Eagle is introducing his friend the Hooded Crow to someone.Allow me to introduce my friend here, the Eagle might say.As it extends it`s long wing out.
What a beautiful image and very well captured.
Well composed with excellent sharpness and detail.
The colours are top notch.
Great camera work.

Strange bed-fellows, these two birds, Harry.
I thought Eagles were solitary and unsocial.
Here you have shown the Eagle and the Hooded Crow as close buddies. Your note explains the situation to my great satisfaction.
Wonderful mood image from a good perspective. The Eagle looks majestic even in this posture.
TFS and regards.

Hello Harry,

Hello Harry,
Very vivid and interesting shot. Really looks like the eagle would like to protect the crow. These islands up in Norway seem to be still a very natural area, wouldn't be bad to visit them!

What a wonderful moment you captured here. Excellent charpness and clarity. Very detail on the dark feather against the mostly lighter foreground and background. Tow bird in one is just a bonus. Thanks for posting and your very nice comments on my not so cute model.

Hi Harry,
A pretty amazing capture!
It's so good all the action displayed here, with the eagle's wings extended and just touching the earth.
The focus and sharpness are spot on.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
Best regards,

Hej Harry,
Beauty exposition! Super blurred background. Sharp birds. Predatory dynamic. Fantastyczne!
Gratulacje i pozdrowienia - Roma

Great capture of the two commensurate species together. I particularly like the splashes of colour from the eagles's feet and grass on the right. Good notes too.
