Hi lovers of Nature,

Calocybe gambosa, which You see here, is a very popular mushroom to eat. It's quite delicious (just tasted it...) and is usually the 1st of the large edible fungi to appear.

Distribution: Europe. Growing (in Central Europe) from April to June, very rarely also in warm and rainy September. In warmer countries like Italy it isn't rare in March, too.
I read in a couple of Hungarian books, that C. gambosa's frequent in a few places. Most probably it is, but practically this was the 3rd time I met it ever, in the past 2 decades. So, it's a very new specie in my photo collection. :)

I photographed this little group in the Southern Bükk, in a less known part of the Bükk National Park, ca. 5 kilometers from a village named Kács, on a hill named "Small Wolf Rock".

Tech: used a thick branch as a tripod, flash off mode. Very little darkening as PP.

How cute this family of mushrooms!! It's really a splendid finding and a great shot of it. Magnificent POV, DOF, lighting, colors and exposure. I really like the framing and composition.

Congratulations for your new specie in you photo collection.
In Spain is considered a spring specie, although in the north were I live I always found it in September.
Nice family you show here, the composition is very descriptive, showing different stages, and exposure ery pleasant.
DOF a bit sort for my taste, but I am not sure if you can select different apertures in this compact HP camera.
Sorry I can't give you back my greetings in Hungarian, but the only words I know in your language is tokaji and puttonyos :)))

Good shot of this fine troop of edible fungi. We don't have many edible one's in Australia, so think yourself lucky.
