1. Papaver orientale L.
Stems erect, sub-spreading setose below, adpressed-setose above, 60-90 cm. Leaves distributed along the stem at 3-6 nodes, pinnatisect, the segments oblongtriangular, somewhat toothed. Buds ovoid to broadly ovoid, 2-3 cm. Petals 4, 4.5-9 cm, scarlet, immaculate, or with a blotch broader than long at the base. Capsule subglobose. Disc flat, stigmas 7-16.
Two varieties may be recognised:
1. var. orientale
1. var. parviflora
The Papaver genera is represented about by 70 taxa in Turkiye. Genera's species is widespread in Turkiye.
