Guten Morgen Anne,
da seid Ihr ja wieder: Du - und ein Nektar saugendes Taubenschwänzchen! Eine eindrucksvolle Blüte (die so dankbare Cosmea) hat es sich da ausgesucht, um davor - wie es scheinen mag - in aller Ruhe in der Luft zu stehen. Nun wissen wir aber aus der Erfahrung, wie rasch sie herangeeschossen kommen und wie kurz sie dabei innehalten - wie viel Geduld und Geschick es also braucht, ein Taubenschwänzchen so perfekt zu fokussieren, und in der gebotenen Eile noch dazu ein ganzes Bild so ausgewogen zu gestalten. Wunderbar.
Danke auch für die kurzen, treffenden Erkläungen: "bigger in eastern countries" - würde gern mal so ein 76mm großes Taubenschwänzchen in der Natur brummen sehen, tatsächlich dann so gross wie ein Kolibri.

Das Bild gefalt mir sehr gut. The Hawk Moth has been frozen into a sharp and crisp image at that shutter speed.
Together with the flower, it makes a lovely composition.

Hello Anne,
I love these cute little moths who many people think are baby humming when they first observe one. You have captured this particular specimen in excellent detail due to your fast shutter speed. A lovely composition with the bright red bloom and tiny moth being the center of attention. Perfect exposure and wonderful DOF. Love the clean BG. Awesome shot!!
