[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Papilio ophidicephalus chirinda Van Son - Emperor swallowtail.

The largest butterfly in Southern Africa.

Distribution: This subspecies is found in the forests of the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe and adjacent Mozambique.

Larval food: Rutaceae Citrus limon

This was taken at the Jabulani Butterfly farm, Henley-on-Klip, South Africa. Taking photos in an environment like this is the most relaxing situation you can imagine. I have been back there a few times and not because I am a butterfly fanatic, but purely for the wonderful atmosphere created by butterflies flying all around you. In some cases they even land on you and seeing small kids' amazement when this happens, makes the 20km trip worth my while. Even if I do not take a single photo.

Hi Willem,
A wonderful capture. Technically very well done as well.
Especially due to to the overall sharpness.
Great exposure; the black parts are very well detailed in my opnion whereas the white ones are tending not to be specular.
A success...
