Hi guys,

Apologies for not being around this week I had/have a lot of uni work and TN was taking over! Still full on at the moment but I did escape to London Zoo yesterday for a break from it and got lots of keepers.

This (male?) tiger was patrolling his enclosure. The zoo was quiet and I got myself into a good position for when he came back on his return route, however, the glass panel for viewing was pretty dirty and scratched but managed to find a clean spot low to the ground.

Had to use ISO 720 but it seems like it managed ok to me. I chose this image to post first from my visit because if the intensity in his eyes and the direct contact that I got from him. Not 100% happy with the background but hope that the overall image is a powerful one.

PP: Crop, levels, sharpened, neat image on BG.

Thanks for looking and any critiques you may offer,

I don't like Tigers in enclosures. A beautiful shot however. There are better wildlife conserves than London Zoo. Poor tiger.

It looks like you were his meal...
Very good capturing the moment.

Hi Simon,
olala quelle expression, le felin semble s'approcher lentement pour ensuite attaquer. Très bon moment, le mouvement est bien retranscrit.

Hi Simon,

Nice look captured here. The strength of the look is emphasized by a perfect DOF.
Well seen and done.

Hi Simon

You have done well to isolate this tiger in its leisurely walk about, without showing any obvious zoo paraphernalia. Further you have captured it with stunning details and colours especially the frontal areas that included the face and the front legs. Further backward it becomes a little soft, but that is no nit as the important impact areas were well within the range of the DOF. The colours and the exposure are great. The composition is pleasing with the bit of foliage it the top right hand corner and the cropping was very appropriate.

Good work and TFS.

Hi Simon

Nice eye contact. Looks very aggressive with the ears back. Well done on a great shot of a beautiful animal. TFS.

Hello Simon,
OK, it is taken in a zoo but what can we do? Open all the cages? Lol, I have dreamt about it many times :)

This is a stunning POV and eye contact. Details, composition, exposure are superb and I love its pose. This is a very good shot of an impressive specie. He or she is just beautiful… Thanks,

Hi Simon

I'm glad this wasn't taken at Richmond :)

Stunning eye contact great POV. It feels like you are being stalked. The high ISO seems fine.

Hi Simon and sorry for the delay

This is a relly beautiful capture! The pose of the tiger and the look in its eyes is terrific!
I really like the "sneaking up" feeling here - excellent timing here as well.
I really like therather shallow DOF here and also the very good definition. The high ISO worked great and the noise level is amazingly low ;)
Excellent POV and sharpness, too, splendid natural colors and tones and a spot-on exposure complete this wonderful composition.

Bravo and TFS
