[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Eptesibus bottae (The Botta's Serotine): This bat species was observed roosting solitary in a crevice at Kal’atu Fakhraddin el-Mani, 3 km W Tadmur (Palmyra) on 15.08.2006. It was collected by a mistnet, photographed and escaped later into a deep narrow crevice in the wall. Bats especially feeds on insects or fruits. This one feeds on incets and its teeth very useful to feed on small flying insects.

Another great bat portrait. Nice job.

Great detail on such a cute face . Our bats are very small in Alberta , but they do great things . They are interesting creatures . We have what we call Bat boxes , that we hang from most of our buildings . They are open at the bottom with thin dowels inside for the bats to hang from . This gives our little friends a place to stay during the day , and they keep our insect population down at night . TFS , Kevin .

I really start to think that bats are one of your favourite mammal group. And it is really nice because of that I can see and learn a lot about these interesting creatures :)
By the way, I have a question. Did you take this photo in the cave or in some other place? And how big is that species?
