Hi James,
Good to see you back from your recent trip to Syria. Looks like you had a wonderful time visiting ancient historic sites.
This image is the first of its kind from you -- the macro of two insects on a flower. It is a pretty good capture with clear details on the one closer to the camera. I guess both are beetles of some kind.
I am sure when you have your macro lens, you would show us many more macros taken with it.
Warm regards.
Ram

Hello James,
It is always so hard to combine nature and culture. There is never time enough for both!
Lovely flower, full of life and the beetle in the middle is beautiful and interesting. Perhaps somone will find its ID.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi James
What a charming macro shot!
The composition here is lovely with this big spiky ball :))
The little insects on it also look great and are presented with very beautiful sharp deatails.
All the colors are wonderful and well saturated and the DOF (a tricky part here) was very well managed.
Bravo and TFS

Hi James,
different to your usual shots, but considering this isn't macro, it looks alot like it!
Wonderful colours and a nice composition. As for the name, how about Stripius Buglium?
Look forward to more Syrian images.

Hi James,
It looks like we posted a simular post. Flowers and insects. We also are on the same level when it comes to buying a new lens. My 100mm macro will be in my bag before the end of june. Anyway, the sharpness and the colors are wonderful. The fact that you got that many insects on one flower and that they all took the time to pose for you is wonderful. I like the offcentered composition and the shallow DOF.
TFS,
Niek

Hi James,
Very good color, exposure, and nice details. Well composed off-center, and the darker OOF BG contrasts the thistle famously.
As you say, a dedicated macro lens will produce better results of course.

Hi James,
The position of the flower in the frame is very nice. Colors and exposure handling is very good. TFS.
