The Victoria Falls - a great impression, but not on my picture. As there was no rain the last month most parts of the falls are dry.

from Wikipedia
Mosi-oa-Tunya is the name used by the local people and Victoria Falls is the later name given by Scottish explorer Dr. David Livingstone (see pre-colonial history, below).

While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, the claim it is the largest is based on a width of 1.7 kilometers (1 mi) and height of 108 meters (360 ft), forming the largest sheet of falling water in the world. The falls' maximum flow rate compares well with that of other major waterfalls (see table below).

The unusual form of Victoria Falls enables virtually the whole width of the falls to be viewed face-on, at the same level as the top, from as close as 60 metres (200 ft), because the whole Zambezi River drops into a deep, narrow slotlike chasm, connected to a long series of gorges. Few other waterfalls allow such a close approach on foot

Hello Achim,
What a waterfall. the volume is amazing and the rock formation it has cut is really surprising and shown well here.
Best regards Siggi

I have heard so much about these Falls and your picture does convey the enormity of them, Achim. Though the quantity of water in them may not be normal when you took this picture, they still look very impressive.
Thanks for sharing the picture and best regards.

Hello Asbed,
A fantastic capture showing that the Victoria Falls look great even without much water! I like the beautiful rock faces and the mist from the falls beyond. The 'little' green trees at the top adds proportion too. Beautiful colours and well composed!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Achim,
Grand coverage of mistic Victoria Falls in a wide panoramic view. TFS.
Best wishes-Subhash

Hi Achim,

The captur of the power of the Victoria Falls is an asset to the composition. The rock walls are framing well the falls. The point of view is giving perspective to the photo. The light is enhancing the colors of the scenery. have a nice day.

Lieber Achim,

Hi Achim

This is an amazing scene and place!
I'm really happy we have people like you on TN - that go on all sorts of amazing destinations and come back to present us what they've witnessed there.
The Victoria Falls are most impressive and you've captured them wonderfully here. One cam really see how much of the rocks they sculpted by the raw power of crumbling water.
Great shot and composition.

Bravo and FS
