Lacertidae is the family of the wall lizards, or true lizards, which are native to Europe, Africa, and Asia. The group includes the genus Lacerta, which contains some of the most commonly seen lizard species in Europe.
The European and Mediterranean species live mainly in forest and scrub habitats. Eremias and Ophisops species replace these in the grassland and desert habitats of Asia. African species usually live in rocky, arid areas. Holaspis is one of the few arboreal lacertids, and its single species, Holaspis guentheri, is a glider (although apparently a poor one), using its broad tail and flattened body as an aerofoil. The capture of this Lizard is scenic, to say the least, with that OOF abyss beyond the rock on which it is sprawled, Achim.
Very good colours and details, though I would have preferred to zoom in the subject a little more to see its head and eyes bigger.
TFS and regards.

Hi Achim.
Very nice scene. I like it a lot. BG and FG are separated perfectly physically, by colouration and by sharpness/blurriness level. Very cute image of a small reptile too. My kind regards and compliments.

Ciao Achim, beautiful lizard with fantastic colors, splendid sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio
