White-Necked Laughingthrush
(Garrulax strepitans) 白颈噪鹛
Size: 30.5 cm
Location: Mae Wong National Park (Thailand)
Description:
A large, dark laughingthrush: Rich olive-brown crown. Dark rufous ear-covets. Blackish-brown face and breasts. Greyish-white neck sides. Dark tail. Sexes are similar, juveniles undescribed.
Voice:
Habits:
Moist lowland forests and montanes at 500 - 1800m. Not much known about diet. Feeds presumably on larger invertebrates. A noisy but shy species. Usually seen in groups of ten or more birds, mostly near the ground foraging in leaf litter. Joins often bird waves. No information about breeding. Resident species.
Distribution:
Found in east Burma, north and northwest Thailand, north Laos and south China (Yunnan). |
