Hello Anne,
A beautiful flower indeed, hard to believe something so pretty could be poisonous. They actually remind me of the crocuses that bloom each year in my wifes flower bed.
I love the way the back lighting makes the petals seem to glow. Gorgeous purple colors while displaying excellent detail. Presented from an attractive low POV.

Beautiful and detailed flower of the meadows. I have found the first flowers after snowmelt are indeed the most beautiful once they grow to their utmost height.

Hi Anne,
Thank you very much for your comment on one of my recent posts. I appreciate it, and hope you'll return to TN with new photos also. This one's fabulous, the stamens are tack sharp, and the purple tone of the petals are wonderful, such as lights, composition and crop. In my home country, Hungary this species lives in sand desert meadows, is protected by the laws and wearing the name 'one-haired flower'. But I myself never managed to find it in the wild. Thanks for sharing this breathtaking image.
