First of all I would like to thank each and every one of you for viewing and their great comments on my previous uploads. Much appreciated.

This time I show you a female brown bear with her around 1 1/2 year old cub peeping above the high grassess there were Brooks River runs in to NakNek Lake.

While walking from Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park to Brooks Falls one has to walk over a wooden bridge wich has been constructed over the outlet were Brooks River runs in to NakNek Lake.
On the other side of the bridge they did build one of the two around 12 feet high platforms wich one will find overthere.
The other one is just above Brooks Falls to wich one has to walk through the woods for around 2 miles.
They did build these platforms for the visitors to flee on to when bears come to near.
These are save places at wich the bears don't have a change to come up to.

This shot was taken while I was on that platform near NakNek Lake.
For a little while I already did see movement in the high grassess and because there was no wind at all, it had to be something else wich made the grasses move around :)
After 10 to 15 minutes my patience was rewarded by the popping up of two heads wich appeared to be this female brown bear and her cub.

Between the Nikon F5 body and the Nikon 500mm F4.0 lens I also had attached the Nikon TC14E Tele Extender wich gave me a focal lenght of 700mm.

I did use a monopod for this shot.

Thanks in advance for viewing and comments.Hope you like this image.
Kind regards,
Harry

I played with shadows and sharpens only on the bears.
Hope you like it :)
