Nannospalax nehringi - Körfare [TR], Nehring's Blind Mole Rat [EN] is one of three species groups of the family SPALACIDAE (Mammalia: RODENTIA) in Turkiye. They have polychromosomal forms and so, recently devided into many species. I will not tell scientific notes here. I can say this rodent is common in Anatolia, except some coastal parts of BlackSea and Mediterranean. It has a simple cylindrical body without external ears, eyes and tails. But its ears are very sensitive and so it dosent need eyes since its perfect hearing capability.
This animal live underground galeries and rarely appear on ground surface.
You can also see this rat from one of my earlier posts (photo).

Most important thing that they are favourite animals of my close friend Mustafa Sözen (spalaxtr) whose nickname originated them:) I dedicate this post to him.

The photo was taken under bad light near evening's dusk in rainy weather. Camera's original flash was used, but this is not enough since focal lenght of 5.5 m. So, distance was about 6 m. I hope you will like it.
Thanks for visiting.
