NATURE OF SULAWESI and INSECTS OF SULAWESI
These series of postings are intended to increase the knowledge on Sulawesi's biodiversity. Except for butterflies, little is known on most other insect groups and on spiders of this huge island. Many new species can be expected to be discovered. Large parts of Sulawesi are only poorly explored also with respect to butterflies, such as the south-eastern Peninsula, Sulawesi-Tenggara.

The picture shows an as yet
... unidentified ladybird species.
Family: Coccinellidae

Location
Porabua (Sulawesi Tenggara, Indonesia), a small village in the vast moutaineous and rain-forest covered area of Souteast-Sulawesi. I visited this tourist-free place now for the second time. People confirmed that no 'white' man visited this place since my last trip nearly 4 years ago.

Conditions
- bright sunlight (ISO 400)
- no wind
- handheld
