 Agrumenia (=Zygaena) fausta (20) meyerd
(7531) | Back from the trip:
another macro with the compact Cybershot. It's taken on the "Upper Rock Nature Reserve" of Gibraltar (see "Map: View") and it shows Agrumenia (=Zygaena) fausta (L.) (Lepidoptera; Zygaenidae; Bergkronwicken-Widderchen). The animal is widely found in the Western mediterranean region and up to Southern Switzerland.
Technical: what I find wanting here is the lack of sharpness, despite the Zeiss Tessar, an additional magnifying lens and the anti-shake device. I had to sharpen selectively the flower and the animal in PS. There are better macros to be made but focus control is tricky. Thanks, Radomir (cicindela) for advice.
ID: it cannot be the similar A. carniolica because the red spots are fused. |
