 Rainier Reigns (40) Evelynn
(14454) | When it comes to the king of summer glory, "Rainier Reigns". I doubt there can be another spot on Earth where wildflowers are more wonderful and profuse than they are on Mt. Rainier. There are whole hillsides and sweeping meadows full of them; and small rock gardens and trails lined with them. (see workshop.) We thought we might miss them this year but due to late snows the flowers are also late at the higher elevations.
Shooting was a challenge. The even light was helpful but the howling wind demanded a lot of patience. More intimate shots were easier than a vista like this as I wanted some depth of field but also needed a very fast shutter speed.
I just viewed the uploaded image and it does look a bit light on my display. I darkened it quite a bit before uploading. I wonder how PC's are viewing it.??? |
