These are the same white fluffy blooms that were in my last post & workshop photo. I still can't ID them, but I can enjoy them! I think they are really cool. I hope this is sharp enough for Niek's eagle eyes but there isn't much I can do about it... I simply can't see it!!!!!!!!! @#$&%! Ah... the "Golden Years" :P

We will be leaving on our annual fall photo expedition this week (if all goes well). I'll be gone the rest of September. We are off to the Canadian Rockies. Then we will go again to Wyoming for much of October.

Thanks to Oana (oanaotilia) we now know that this is the seed stage of the Western Pasqueflower. The flower is also quite lovely. I'll post an image as a workshop.

Thanks to Oana (oanaotilia) we now know that the fluffy plants in the original post are the seed pod of the Western Pasqueflower shown here. I took this image at a higher alpine area of Mt. Rainier park where the flowers had not yet reached seed stage.
