this is looking west from the far eastern reaches of Seatown beach, not far from Lyme Regis in Dorset. On Saturday, the south coast of the UK had a massive ground swell hit it, creating enormous waves in otherwise clean and glassy waters. A faint haze was in the air, but it was like an early spring day, with just a T shirt and jeans required...bliss!
In the distance in the haze is the sandstone headland known as Golden Cap, which at 626ft (191m) in altitude, is the highest point on the south coast of England.
Thanks for looking..
(and yes, i got extremely wet taking this shot from that crashing wave. So much so that i had to go and buy a new pair of trousers in Lyme Regis!)
