This pretty little Tussox Moth Caterpillar was visiting one of our sunflower plants when I took his picture. I enjoy viewing the many different types of caterpillars we have here in Ohio because their appearance varies so much in size, color and shapes.

This particular caterpillar is one of our most easily recognized due to it's unique markings and colors. They feed on a variety of woody plants, therefore it can show up almost anywhere there is foilage. Tussox Moth Caterpillars are occasional pests at Christmas tree farms because the hairs on their bodies can cause allergic reactions to those with sensitive skin.

I will post another shot of this caterpillar in the WS.
