Coenonympha arcania is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae (Subfamily Satyrinae). It can be found from north and central Spain thought most of Europe to Norway, south Sweden, Balkans and Turkey.
The butterflies fly in one generation from May to August. The larvae feed on various grasses.
In Greece Coenonympha arcania is a common species in central and northern areas.
