 Black-naped Monarch (12) rubyfantacy
(2627) | good morning, everyone! :)
it's 6:28 am right now.
today is a special day for me... my last day at workplace [ah i hate seeing people crying, because i hate to get induced into crying] and today [tonight, rather], am leaving Kolkata... on a trip...
going to Jayanti forest in search of Sultan Tits and Asian Fairy Blue-birds.
wish me luck.
i may take Jiya with me [my laptop]... not decided yet.. but even then, i am sure i won't get network over there.
so this collage is my parting gift till the time being :)
Black-naped Monarch is a dream bird to us, in here. people simply pray to get a glimpse of it. this tiny blue-beauty looks dashing under sunlight, but ALWAYS prefers to stay in shades. being restless [continuously hopping from one branch to another], taking a decent shot of this amazing, cute, lovely bird... is very tough.
i had waited the whole season for such a shot. but couldn't manage... first of all, was not getting to see them, secondly, even if had seen, missed those wonderful moments :(
had to stay within my equipment-wise limitations. it had every possibility to throw me into frustration, but i knew, that was not the last chance. i knew my mother Nature. i had faith. and hence, i had waited... may be one month, or one year... both were okay for me :)
and then, as they say, 'on one fine day'... :) i was leaving the sanctuary, and suddenly this bird came in front of me. i stood like a statue. it was almost noon. the sanctuary was vacant... the bird [seemed not aware of my presence] started brushing its feathers and was busy in grooming itself. i took shots for exactly 10 minutes! Black-naped Monarch giving pose for TEN minutes???! when people heard that, just stared at my face... with mouth open :)
but the fact is, i took the first shot at 11:50 and last at 12 O'clock! just a fact :) :)
the only problem was, the bird was, as usual in shade and the Sun was against my lens... okay :) better luck next time. i have faith :)
blue in birds is my weakness :) ...and this is an impossible bird... so, i thought of posting this blue-beauty before i leave :)
bye everybody. please, wish me luck :) |
