The Galah is a common cockatoo in Australia. It can be seen in open country, almost everywhere. The species is rather familiar and is not afraid living in urban districts. He often lives in large flocks (I have seen more than 100 galahs simultaneously in the blue mountains). It's a middle-sized bird among psittaciformes (about 35 cm and 350 g). Both sexes are almost similar but irises (black for the male and reddish for the female). Its color is unique and can't be confused with an other species.
