Baby Elephant (38)

Baby elephant on the Chobe River in Serondela, part of Chobe National Park in Botswana. It was rare to get a baby alone in the frame, so I was happy to get this shot (Mom's shadow can be seen to the left). What stills unfortunately don't convey is that at this age, the elephants can't control their trunk - they flop back and forth in the most adorable way.

The shot was taken from our Landrover. Workshops are welcomed - should this maybe be cropped?

Hi Ian,

I just cropped it to show the effect of a smaller crop on the composition. I used the clone tool to get rid of the shadow and sharpened in Lab mode.

Please tell me what you think.
