The quiet fall #5 (22)
|Yet another shot from Vermillion Lakes in Banff. This was taken a bit ago before the snow (which has since melted down, at least down here). |
Lately I've been noticing Evelynn's use of what I've been calling reverse space -- where something that appears to be the subject serves more as a frame of the "real" subject. Here, I think the trees reminds me of that -- at first glance the subject of the photo, but after a bit becomes the bg and the mountains moves to the subject, sort of like an Escher drawing.
PP: A noice filter, resize, one bit of sensor dust cloned, framed, and USM.
RP: Thanks for the suggestions and WSs. I went with the square crop to move the trees from center and also because I like the informal balance between the trees and mountain. But I chose to include the shadow in the bottom and a bit of the dark tree on the right as framing devices. Funny how the square crop adds more area and pixels, so I had to shrink this to 750 with no USM. How about now?
