COMMON WOLF LICHEN
Letharia vulpina

We went for a hike in the mountains and came across this beautiful lime green Lichen. I thought the colour was so nice against the old grey tree stump.

I found out that this variety of Lichen can grow up to 8 cm tall and is found in Alberta, B.C. to Colorado.

The natives used the Wolf Lichen to make dye for clothes, fur, moccasins, feathers, wood including face paint.

The Letharia species contain a toxic acid and is very poisonous.

Ok back at my main PC. I cranked the colour balance from 5000k to 8000k. That did about 95% of the job right there. I also added a touch of green and yellow saturation.
